What we did:

Bringing to life 8 multi-sensorial artworks by local and international artists

Working under the overarching theme of “Tomorrow We’ll Be…”, the Biennale was designed to invite children to explore the endless possibilities of their future through four core values: Joy, Kindness, Dream, and Love.

As the design team, we had the pleasure of collaborating closely with seven local and international artists. Our role was to deeply understand each artist's unique direction and blend their distinctive styles into a cohesive, immersive experience. The ultimate goal was to ensure the art successfully communicated these inspiring themes to children while ensuring they had a truly engaging and memorable time.

Creating experiences for children remains one of our most joyous and meaningful missions. Nothing fuels our work more than the joy brimming from the faces of little ones. We are driven by the belief that design can genuinely inspire young minds and foster a lifelong love for discovery and play.

Thank you National Gallery Singapore for entrusting us as the designer for the 2025 Gallery Children's Biennale.

COLOURFUL PLAY BY FERN WONG

I learned to make art by myself at a very young age. I started making papercuts because I ran out of art supplies and started cutting any papers I could find — including worksheets from church!

As you observe the colours and patterns, what emotions do you feel? My work can be very colourful and vibrant because art gives me joy.

Fantasy by Co2_karbondioksida

This artwork is inspired by our two-year-old daughter, Quinn. We have created this piece by repurposing pre-loved baby clothes and toys. It reflects our concerns — where do these items go when they are no longer needed? Are they thrown away or given to families who can use them?
— Oscar Lee and Celine Tan

Kindness Garden by Hiromi Tango

I love working with vibrant colours and textures. Flowers are my biggest inspiration. They can be so healing!

I created this colourful garden of sunflowers, roses, lavenders and some orchids too! The local children we worked with while planning for the Biennale suggested which flowers to feature. Each flower can be experienced through different senses.

Dance Dance Chromatics by Wyn-Lyn Tan

I am a painter, and my art is inspired by nature and science. Over the years, I have explored different ways to paint, even using new technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The video you see on the wall here is made up of all my own paintings from the past 20 years. In my studio, I paint with big strokes, moving my whole body, almost like dancing with the brush!

I WE THEM by Vicente Delgado

Enter this whimsical world where chairs come to life as playful characters and vibrant beings. Have you ever noticed how chairs play a significant role in our daily life? They connect us to the love we share with family and friends, the meals we enjoy and the conversations we have.

Imaginary Peach Garden by YeSeung Lee

I work with digital technology to create vibrant visuals that you can see on screens, walls and even on tall buildings!

For this artwork, I was inspired by tazo puzzles, mythical creatures from Korean and Southeast Asian stories and traditional Korean paintings.

Lessons In Being Kind by Souliya Phoumivong

I am an artist from Laos. I make films using stop-motion animation and I used air-dry clay to make these characters that you see here.

Come experience this installation and watch a short film I created that explores the themes of kindness. Think about how you can extend kindness to people around you.
