The exhibition’s key colour was navy, inspired by traditional Wu Xia book covers. This choice not only created a visual link to the genre’s heritage, but also provided strong contrast against the vibrant pop colours used throughout the exhibition for visual balance.

The art of comics expressed the world of Chinese martial arts through bold strokes and dynamic lines. The vision of artists captured the imagination of generations. In this larger-than-life comic book, visitors can learn about influential comics from Hong Kong and Singapore, and can create their very own martial hero with spinning blocks.

The Cinema that Brought Jianghu to Live 江湖武影

From script to screen, these iconic Chinese martial arts brought the world of jianghu and wulin to life with dynamic fights and tales of heroes. Discover their movie magic in this mini ‘cinema’. Includes miniatures of weapons made famous by films and movie posters are framed within the cinema’s ‘now showing’ frames.

Localising Chinese Martial Arts 狮城武剧

The art of local TV dramas set Singapore as the stage for martial heroes and high-octane fight scenes. Find here a wall of ‘televisions’ showcasing iconic scenes including lenticular frames, a showcase of posters promoting these dramas as well as magazines and scripts.
